    It is darkening up nicely. It has really darkened in the past week.

    That is gorgeous. Did you plant lots of plants or did a few multiply like crazy? Mine have increased slightly but I think the changing shade pattern in the backyard is hampering them.

    I really like your Autumn Joys! I see that I shall have to move mine, they're too leggy. Toni, I pulled out some small pieces with a bit of root when I spring cleaned it, and just put them in the soil next to the mother plant. They grew very quickly and are now blooming in other peoples' yards, so I think they are very easy to propagate.

    8 or 10 years ago I had 4 plants that had grown to where they were about 2 ft in diameter. So I quartered them and moved them to this spot. They are about that size again, but I will probably just leave them alone. They get so top heavy with bloom, that I had to build that little fence to help keep them upright.

    I love my Autumn Joys too, Capt. They turn a lovely shade of mauve be fore they turn rust. You have so many, they make a beautiful show.
