Am I the only who has herd this one before? If you own a spider plant you will be cursed with bad luck. So anyone herd this old tale or know someone who owned the plant and had bad luck until getting rid of it? Odd I can't seem to find anything online about the topic but I herd it from someone so I wondered what you all thought.

I've never heard of a curse of Spider plants.
 I sure hope there isn't one, because I have several and I like them!

Ive never heard that either! But Spider Plants are so vigorous and always making new shoots that someone might call that a curse. I like them ~ they are great air cleaners.

Why do you call them air cleaners Netty? I have one but the light in my house in the winter is atrocious so it only does okay. One of the downfalls of living in the shadow of the mountain.

Isn't it because they take in carbon dioxide and put out oxygen? It's something like that...(without googling it) There are a lot of houseplants that are good for purifying indoor air!
I don't think my pretty Spider plants have given me any bad luck... They are well mannered and make me happy :D

I've owned several, and whatever bad befalls me I'm not about to blame it on a plant.

I would disagree, spider plants take so much less work to keep healthy so if anything I'm guessing they are a good luck charm for the novice gardener. Mine always grow like crazy and don't mind if they're a little neglected from time to time.
