These I had taken in June of this year, when there was a Rainbow over the city of Karachi (which is very rare here). So now I am sharing them with you all! The last picture is of the Sun at the same time - Nobody ever thought of taking a picture in the other direction. Did they? Rainbow Over Karachi 1. OH, that is lovely! Your sunset is spectacular, and I like the way you caught some of the palm trees in the rainbow pictures. Thank you for sharing.
Ahhh rainbows - they never cease to amaze me. I've loved them since I was a little child and still get a thrill when one appears. Beautiful shots S-H. So glad you took a picture of the sunset too for us. :-D
Thank you all for liking my photos. This sort of thing is indeed very rare over here in Karachi. Last time I saw one with my own eyes, was way back in 1979 (when I was a toddler)! OK, now if anyone of you also took a picture of a Rainbow at some point - Then please post it in this thread! Because I'd love to see it from other parts of the world as well! Or if no one has a picture of it, then let's talk about what it was like the first time you ever saw one for real.
Beautiful pics! I love rainbows...every time it rains, afterwards I run outside to see if I can spot one This is a strange one, it just goes in a straight line ( photo / image / picture from TheBip's Garden ) This one was kind of faint, but you can still just make it out ( photo / image / picture from TheBip's Garden )
Amazing! I Never knew Rainbows can be straight also. Is there a large lake nearby your place? If so then perhaps this Rainbow was made by the reflection from that large body of water - Perhaps this is why it is not of a bow shape. Or maybe it was almost directly overhead. In which case even if the bow was there, we wouldn't get to see it from our position. Anyway, these 2 explanations are the only ones I can think of right now. The lake theory however has a flaw in it, because logically speaking - Had the light causing the Rainbow been reflected off the surface, then shouldn't the colors of the Rainbow too would have been inverted (like red being at the bottom and indigo/violet being at the top)???
