Junque I bought last weekend

We went to Austin last weekend for the wedding of a friends son, it was a weekend away so it didn't really matter if I had never met either the bride or groom before

Of course we stopped at some cool places on the way there on Friday and back home on Sunday. For you wandering Texan's there is a great little junque shop in Salado on I-35 and a large really good one just south of Waxahachie, take exit 345 and it's on the east side of the highway and another one in the little town of Lorena just south of Waco where there is also a little cafe/cheese shop named Texas Cheese Company, they make a lot of their own cheese and have really good sandwiches.

Anyway, back to the garden junque...

I love little tables, I don't know where I will put this one but I just couldn't resist it. The leaves fold down or can be propped up to make a circular table, once it is repainted and sealed it will be cute somewhere outside...

A while ago Cheryl posted a photo of old electric insulators she has planted in and I just had to have some too....Yea, I'm a copycat
A blue-green, green, clear and gray...now to find a way to support them so they can be planted in....oh, I just thought of how to do that, stay tuned for more photos later...

I have a steadily growing collection of enamel pans and trays, they are great as watering trays under planters and just generally very useful in the garden. They are much cheaper than the terra cotta plant trays, last longer than the plastic ones and just add a certain character to the garden

In case you all didn't know it, I am a snow flake...i.e. crazy snow loving person. So this snowflake candle snuffer just had to come home with me.

This bench was just too cute to pass up. I am going to leave the paint job as is and put a sealer on it for protection and I think I will put a potted trailing plant of some kind on that shelf.

Last month I didn't realize that the hose on the rain barrel out front had shifted therefore letting water slowly drip from the barrel The barrel is now almost empty and we have had no rain in the last month to fill it back up but when it does fill up again this old gas pump handle will be attached to the hose and ready to keep the water from escaping again.

Not true garden junque but I couldn't resist these skeins of yarn. 57 of them 27 yards each for $8...100% wool in all sorts of colors.

I really must own-up to the fact that hubby found the gas pump handle and thought of using it on the rain barrel but I love the idea.
No, it's just a flat narrow shelf but I am thinking about getting hubby to add some pieces of narrow molding we have out back down both sides to hold a couple of small potted plants or a knick-knack.

 

Another great foraging trip Toni. I especially like the enamel dish and the candle snuffer. I had to buy an enamel pie dish the other week as my old one was getting rather chipped. I have a feeling you got yours at a much better price than I paid ($8) for mine though.
I also find the little green table very appealing as you can lift it up easily to move it around. :-D
