We haven't had any hummingbirds show up yet, but we're ready for them when they do arrive! Our crossvine is in bloom on the fence.

I dearly love this vine--it is evergreen and blooms off and on all summer. The bees like it, too!
There is a yellow variety of crossvine that I am searching the local nurseries for, but haven't found yet. However, I did find a Mardi Gras honeysuckle, some Mexican oregano, and a red blooming lavender. Hunting is such fun!

I saw one of those the other day at the nursery. Was tempted to get it, but talked myself out of because I have lots of trumpet vine started. No Hummingbirds down here yet either. But I have seen at least 4 varieties of butterflies!

I have a huge Crossvine like yours out back that is about to be covered in blooms. I planted it in the wrong place, it does get plenty of morning sun but only blooms in the Spring and maybe in the Fall if the weather is right.
No Hummingbirds in this neighborhood, we have been here 24 years and I think I saw one year before last

We have several butterflies flitting about already too. Female Black Swallowtail, Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, several Hackberry Emperor and a tiny black one that I have not seen still long enough to ID.

If your nurseries and garden centers are like ours they carry only the basics, they might carry something different sometimes but for other colors of some plants you have to order online.
I found a red Lavender at Whole Foods Market last weekend, really looking forward to seeing it in bloom.
