Four years ago this month we moved to the farm. Bye, bye town life! We've never before learned so much, worked so hard, or had so much fun. We found good neighbors (even if they live three miles away) and kind folk (strangers stop to comment on the hens, ask about the bees, or admire the vegetable gardens). The rural life may not be for everyone, but there are two happy yokels here in Central Texas!
Congratulations on your 4th anniversary Jane. A success in a lifestyle change is cause for celebration!! I would imagine celebrating with 200,000 bees you have to bee a little cautious Have a great day, Jerry
Congrats Jane! Nothing like good ol' country living! The largest city I ever lived in was Albuquerque and that's when it was around 500,000. Next to that was the town that I went to college... around 30,000. And before that my little ol' hometown of 500 people! Big cities are great if you want to go there... but live there?? Not this country girl! Congrats again!
Congrats MG, Hubby, chickens, bees and anything else creeping and running around the farm. I would love to be a country girl, especially if the closest neighbor was 3 miles away. But I gave up on the dream many years ago, oh well, maybe in my next life. From Wikipedia about Dallas County where I live... As of 2010, the county had an official population of 2,368,139 and is now the ninth most populous county in the United States.
I was raised in the country and gravitate back whenever I can. I live 8 miles from town but do have near neighbors. dooley
Isn't living in the country just THE best!! Glad you're enjoying your life Jane and congraulations on your 4th anniversay. Here's to the next 4 plus many more.
All this just reminded me of something, so here I am sharing it with you all! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! :-D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MohJmg9ku0A
Gee SH, I was the one wanting to get out and away--and my dear husband agreed. We're both happier now (maybe I'm a bit more happy than he, but he grins and bears it!). Thank you all for your comments. We love sharing our farm, and always meet up with interest and kind thoughts on this site. Toni, don't give up. We moved here just before our 60th birthdays!
