When you are resizing photos down to 500x300 what does the resolution box do for you? I have gotten the pictures to resize but they are blurry. How do I fix it so they are clear again. I've tried a lot of things but nothing works so I thought maybe the resolution has something to do with it. dooley

    Hi Dooley,
everyone may tell you a different story,..as they will not all be using the same program to re size pictures,..i re size all my shots down to 800X600,..i use a FREE program called "FastStone Image Viewer 3.9",..any picture i load in to my computer i can see by opening up FastStone Image Viewer,..i just click Re size and a window opens allowing me a choice of sizes,..i pick Standard Size 800X600 and click "OK",..and then its ready for the forum.

Pictures coming out blurry in my case are mostly when i re size to a bigger size,..when they were already downsized.

Oh i am using this FastStone Image Viewer 3.9 for the past 6 years.

Are you determining the size to be 500x300? Or do you choose the width size to be 500 and let the program determine what the height size should be? If you are entering 500 for the width and 300 for the height, that could be why the photos are blurry.
When I select 500 as the width, the photo never comes out a perfect 300 as the height. Usually it is between 350 and 400.

Does your camera have a preview option for photos so that you can check the quality before uploading them from camera to computer? They may be blurry on the camera for whatever reason....wind blowing the flower around, your hand not as steady was you thought, etc. If they are blurry on the camera, there is nothing you can do to clear them up and taking another photo is the only option.

If you are usine Windows 7, go into Windows Live Photo Gallery and right click on the picture. Select resize and follow the direction. That's what I use and it is so easy and quick.

Thanks! I do upload to Windows Live Photo Gallery. I didn't know you could resize from there. I'll check my pictures full size and see how they look. New Camera, new photo program, duh!
