My Blue Girl Rose has several buds and blooms on it this year. Last year it had only 2 very small ones but this year there are at least a dozen. Blue Girl Rose ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden ) Blue Girl #2 ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden ) And with several of them opening, the fragrance is great except that you have to be downwind to smell it since the winds are back to about 20 mph.
Okay Toni, I just added another rose to my "gotta have" list! That is a lovely rose, and scented, yet! Is it own-root or grafted?
It's a hybrid tea rose but I haven't found any info on whether it is grafted or not. I don't know that much about roses, just that some I really like.
Toni, I did a quick search on Blue Girl, and it can be propagated from cuttings, so it is not grafted. Grafted roses don't come true to their parent plant, and if BG can be cloned, it is own-root. It is also non-patented now, so home propagation won't result in a visit from the rose police!
And yet another beautiful blue flower from Toni's garden! I can't think of a word to describe it. So I'll just go with... WOW!
Lovely rose Toni,..and a scented one as well!,..shame you don't live nearer,..i would steal a cutting.
toni I have tried and tried to raise blue Girls but mine always die.whats your secret.I love the smell and the color?
