We got up early this morning, before it started getting hot. It was 93 degs today and very windy.
We planted to Live Oak trees and a Tex Star Peach tree. We already planted one peach tree. We have two fig trees, several oak trees that Toni sent to me, three pecan trees that Toni sent, four dogwood trees, six crape myrtle and one red bud tree and a golden rain tree and two plum trees. Most are small but seem to be doing well so maybe next spring we will have a shady yard front and back. The trees will not shade the garden area though. I was only going to have a small garden this year. Yep, you guessed. It's bigger than I wanted. I still haven't figured out that picture thing though so I haven't any pictures to post. The front yard is still messy though. They are logging all the trees off across the road so it's windy, dusty and noisy.
It sure looks strange to look out and see no trees, just brush piles everywhere. They hauled out big trucks of logs yesterday and this morning.

Oh Dooley...I know exactly how you feel with tree's gone. You may remember my neighbor cut out all his hedge rows a few years back...the noise, dust and mud was something else. It completely changed the appearance and it has taken me 8 years to get the birds back. I've lost track of how many tree's I have planted here since then. I am picking up 5 new Sugar Maple saplings next weekend, can't wait to get 'em in!

We've planted over 20 trees since we moved to the farm, but we are 'way behind you, Dooley! You'll be well forested in a couple of years!
