I have drug these poor little old plants with me from home to home to home. The original plants were given to my grandma, by my great-grandma, on her 27th birthday. I've never seen any iris so cute. That is a great story too -- that makes those iris pretty old.... wow.
Great story and fantastic iris. I have the little dears tucked between the pavers and along some paths. They were passed down to me, but don't have such a long pedigree.
Isn't Mother Nature amazing!! Those little iris bulbs must be around 100 years old and still producing beautiful blooms.

Beauty does come in small packages, doesn't it? Those iris are so special, both because they have family history, and because they are so pretty.
I forgot to put in the year Grandma got them, 1943. I hope I look this cute at 68 :-D I like them because of the history but because they are about the first thing to bloom in my yard, they even beat the tulips!
