Soomeone didn't uncross their fingers. Thank You! We got more rain yesterday afternoon and evening and last night. It was an amazing storm. There was thunder and lightning and wind and hail. Our electric went out for a couple of hours. We have no water yet. We have to wait for people to get up and moving around to find out why. I imagine it has to do with the electric going to the well or the lightning struck somewhere close to it. The yard is flooded but there is no water in the house. It's a good thing we drink bottled water. We have quite a few bottles on hand. "Water, water everywhere and all the boards did shrink. Water, water everywhere nor any drop to drink." from the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner. The bucket on the back deck has six inches in it but dr says the sides are not really straight so we didn't get quite that much. Maybe four or five inches. I won't have to water today for sure. There is more rain in the forecast for this afternoon and this evening. We are still in drought conditions but we do need time to let this soak in a bit. Our road is quite messy so it needs time to dry out a bit, too. dooley
Glad to hear that your area finally got some rain. We got a little over an inch, some places around here got up to 4 inches.
I'm feeling so left out. There was a tad bit of rain very early this morning... not even enough to measure in the rain gauge. And there's still a very very light mist right now. I was going to mow first thing this morning... but that'll just have to wait. Who knows... maybe it will actually RAIN! Now... whoever crossed their fingers for Dooley.... can you do it again for me??
The wind blew the pressure tank over and broke the pipe going to the well so they had to cut the electric to the pump. They are going to try to get it fixed but their grandma died and the funeral is today. Seems they are have some bad times right now. We'll get some buckets of water from the other neighbors. Still cloudy and misty this morning. Road is very washed out. We'll stay home today and let it dry. dooley
Dooley, glad you got rain, but sorry you are having problems with the well and pump. We got 3/10th of an inch yesterday evening, and more predicted for today. I love MUD! Cheryl, I'm trying to scoot some of the moisture your way--if it works, just send me a check!
Well my fingers locked up so I never did uncross them. I did tell whoever's in charge to send some rain your way so glad it arrived Dooley. Now I'm keeping everything crossed for Cheryl in the hope it rains for her too.
Dooley we have water at our well pump you can get water from there.Jubabe'sdad (MY brothers pond filled up he was trying to clean it out.but isn't complaining about getting the rain.We needed the water for our treesand plants
Dooley, I am glad you got some rain to help with the drought. I take it you are in Texas [I havent checked that out yet] ? I think they should build canals from the spillways along the Mississippi River over to west Texas to help with droughts. It seems like when the Mississippi floods, Texas is having another drought and cannot get any of that good water. Then people around the spillways need not worry about another flood, and it would help Texas's drought. It would also provide employment for people out of work and boost the economy. And one less disaster. We had some heavy rain here during the night, but nothing like the constant deluges we had last month. Hopefully, you can get your well fixed soon.
The well is fixed. It was the pressure tank that the wind blew over which broke the pipes. John pushed it back in place and repaired the pipes. It ran yucky water until the pipes cleared it out but it's okay now. It hasn't rained anymore yet but it says a 30 percent chance for tonight and windy. dooley
Glad you have water back at the house Dooley. When we lived at the trailer park... no "city water"... but a well & pump. Every time a storm was blowing in, we'd make sure to fill up a few buckets of water and take a shower... because you never knew when the power would go out. Now... I feel so spoiled! Water... no matter what! (almost)
This is the first time we've been without water since we moved here two years (plus) ago. Who would have thought the wind would blow a pressure tank over. Well, people who live in tornado areas, but with all the wind we've had this spring you would have thought if it was going to blow over it would have happened sooner. I didn't even think it was that windy last night. It must have been a gust in just the right area. dooley
