We were in a tornado watch from 2 pm Wed. until 9 pm. and then a severe storm watch until 3 am this morning. About 1 am we had a storm front come through that had rain, lightning and 60 mph winds. So far I haven't seen any damage, but it's not full light either. More rain for later today, but cooler.

Too many tornados this year, too much damage. Hope there is no damage around you Captain. When does tornado season end?

It was pitch black here at 8:00pm last night. We have never seen the color as dark as this. It poured for a solid hour.... I think we got about 4 inches of rain between then and this morning. All the creeks are out of their banks. It is unbelievable. At 3:00am my sister called to warn us about the weather alert for a dangerous storm and to stay away from the windows. This was a huge storm system. Captain how far south are you?

I am about 30 miles northwest of Columbus. There is still another month of tornado season yet. But they can happen at any time. The latest I have seen one here in Ohio is mid Nov. Carolyn, remember the outbreak of tornados that hit Xenia years ago? I was born in that hospital that was taken out in that mess. But when those happened I was stationed in Virginia Beach, Va.

Capt, glad you didn't get the really rough stuff. That system moved across us then into Oklahoma Monday night. We got hail and lots of rain and 10 confirmed tornadoes on the ground in the area, one just a few miles north of us...going north east thank goodness. Lots of roof, fence and tree damage in the three county area that was hit.

Were the Xenia ones from in the early "70's? I was small when those occured, but I do remember the destruction and fear of it happening to us. We lived in a really flat area of the county, so it would have been very possible for us. As a child it makes a real impact.
The ones from November seem to be our 2nd most dangerous month for them. They certainly are scary, no matter what.
We have a friend staying with us this week from Defiance and his dad said they had 3" of rain yesterday :( :( :( :( and another friend in Francisville, Ill. who said they had a tornado touch down in their town on Tuesday :( :( :(
No matter where we live right now, it seems the weather is extreme.
Were bailing or boiling. No middle ground, it seems.
