First harvest of 2011

    i picked these on two different days. the cucumbers are going crazy...best crop of them i have ever had. had to add trellis to them last week. the leaf is turnip greens.

    forgot to put up todays pickings...
    the tips of all the cowhorn peppers had soft brown areas from constant contact with the ground. the plants were small when they formed and were all on the bottom.

    That looks like a very decent harvest, RS. Those turnip greens look VERY tasty indeed.

    Very nice ! We seed our turnips late Aug or Sept for fall harvest. Have turnips and greens most all winter.

    we ate the turnip greens and cucumbers at dinner yesterday, i have to say that i was proud of the quality! everything tasted delicious. leftovers for lunch today!

    stuff is just trickling in right now, but soon i will be getting a truckload of stuff i think...

    just picked the first of the wax beans. i thought they were pole type beans but are bush instead. that is ok, just a lot of bending over to harvest.
