Hubby covered our gutters last fall, the pieces cut off for corners or making a piece shorter fell to the ground at the foot of the ladder and as men are want to do he packed up his tools and left the scraps there. Not one to let good stuff go to waste I washed them off and brought them inside to my craft room knowing a good use for them would eventually pop into my head. Over the last few years I have accumulated beads, interesting buttons, bits of earrings, necklaces, etc. And I have a spool of 17 lb (pound measurement of it's strength) fishing line. A clever use of discarded material Toni and a splendid decoration. Which reminds me, I can use some gorilla glue and some some plastic gutter guard to repair my broken garden sifter. Thank you. Jerry
Its amazing what all you can do with the things that you find. That last one had a small pair of shoes that look a bit like my garden shoes.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments. It was fun and easy making them and now I have an excuse to go buy more beads. I love making something from things that would usually be thrown away and am always looking at things with the question "what can I make out of that" in my mind. Sjoerd, I thought of you when I saw those gardening clogs. I am also using some strips of the gutter cover as an edging to hold mulch along a strip of ground down the length of the driveway and will take photos when I get that done. Frank, the beads are attached to the piece with the fishing line. I'll cut another piece of the gutter cover and take step by step photos of the process. I have a lot of red beads I want to make another one with anyway.
Really nice Toni. the one looks like a Christmas tree growing out of the watering can. Like they say: one person's trash is someone else's treasure. I to love too repurpose stuff around my house. Super job.

Thanks KK Ng, I have a small package of red beads that I am hoping to use to make a flower I just have to get the wire cut for it and get myself started.
