I bought these from the market, and I did not even realize that 2 bananas in this bunch are exactly like conjoined twins! I myself have never really seen it happen in the plant world before - So that's why I took a few pictures of it, to share with everyone over here. I'm really interested in knowing if anyone of you have ever seen anything like this also. If yes, than please also upload a picture (if possible). Hi S-H, talk about saving on the wrapping!,..i have never come across conjoined fruit myself but i remember some years back a Watermelon was found conjoined,..scientists claimed it was a first,..i presume a first for Watermelon.
Sorry, no photo, but we picked a tomato that was joined about half way down the side. It looked like two at the bottom, but one at the top.
Hi Netty, glad you had not eaten it and managed to photograph it,..doesn't it or they look weird. Hi Carolyn, i know your camera has gone to Africa otherwise you might have got a picture. S-H,..i found that Watermelon,..well there were more than one over the years,..still rare,..see the link below. http://asiancorrespondent.com/38138/fre ... mutations/
Yes, Philip and if there are any conjoined fruit/vegetable pictures on it when it comes back I will post them for you to see.
S-H ; Those two are definitely Bananas for each other. Haahaahaa. Or you could say that they won't be able to give each other the slip. I better stop and peel out of here. Oh that one is a pretty bad pun. It is fun making them up. I have seen some very strange looking veggie mutations.
Tooty2shoes, excellent puns! They made me laugh for a very long time in front of the PC. Eileen, next time you have conjoined strawberries, remember to take a few pictures. Philip, thanks for sharing the link. Really enjoyed seeing something like that! Netty, absolutely amazing picture of the conjoined cucumber - Thanks for sharing it with us. Carolyn, too bad you couldn't photograph that tomato. It really would have been an amazing sight. But as I understand it, these type of mutations often happen. So there is always a next time. And Frank, well, here is a picture of the conjoined bananas as I pealed them. Turns out that both bananas were completely normal from the inside (as I had suspected). Only the outer skin was joined. Taste wise too they are exactly like any other Pakistani banana. Conjoined Twin Bananas 4 ( photo / image / picture from S-H's Garden )
Hi S-H, i was curious as well as to how they would taste,..they certainly look good and as you said tasted like any other Pakistani banana,..i hope you shared them,.lol,..they would catch on well as "The Romantic Banana,..For Couples".
