I just bought a house and I have a flowering climbing vine that is growing in my front yard I'd like to keep it and actually plant some more but I need help identifying it the flowers haven't fully bloomed yet but they are purple with a yellow center and the vine turns purple when it grows. A friend of mine has seen it before doesn't know the real name but he called it purple veined morning glory any help identifying this plant will be greatly appreciated ( photo / image / picture from glodell18's Garden ) [/img] moderator's note: added a more descriptive title to topic
Good morning, yes that is correct, blue solanum jasmimoides, a weed!I have seen it trained into toffee apple shapes and bonsai but it is still a weed! Also poorman's wisteria.
Quick pull it before it sets seed (just my opinion, I think it is a terrible weed). You will see little purply/black fruits that will be eaten by birds and spread everywhere.
Yes Marts right, Passion flower I think the scientific name is Pasi Flora or something I had one grow into my old houses yard from the neighbors and the flower is beautiful. But the vine takes over everything trees you name it. But pull the yucky ones.... Good luck
