Hi all. Our forum usage rules say that "One word forum posts, low-content forum posts and forum posts containing only smilies are to be kept to an absolute minimum.". I understand that sometimes it's nice to post something small just to show appreciation but rather than write one of these types of replies please Like the post instead. Thanks for reading
Thank you Frank. I am a big offender of that rule. I didn't realize it was an important rule. I will respect the rule from now on. Knowledge and understanding is a powerful.
Oops. . . . . . . . . Like that, you mean? I too am an offender. I will do my best to be mindful of that rule from now on.
That was one reason why I haven't posted much lately. Reading a few of the posts I noticed in many that people just send a 'seed' and not even one word sometimes.
Oh dear, add my name to the list of offenders. This has been a busy time of year for us, and I've just sent seeds or quick responses for a while. I'll try to do better in future. I sure don't want to get a dreaded "Frank mod note"! The informative, helpful, and nice posts here deserve better than a passing comment.
Please keep in mind that we are all very very busy these days. Many times I want to post and must rush through the new posts. I have my little, toy tablet, with my all the time and am always checking in to my favorite place but just can't post all the time. Please keep that in mind when feeling neglected. I do... Seeds are a good way to show support and positive vibes. I have learned to use them. So when you see me giving them remember, I have read the post and agree, approve or just like it and have not allot to say about it or time is short. XOX
Yup ... I'm guilty too. I think my most common one word reply is 'gorgeous'. But that one word really says more LOL Sorry Frank
I make a motion that "gorgeous" is acceptable as a whole post, for it is such a big word and has such a large meaning..
How about when you think about posting a one word reply, add something like "where did you buy it" or "is it difficult to grow" or "does it come in other colors" or "do you have much trouble with bugs eating it", etc. It would take only about 5 seconds longer to add a question that would possibly start a discussion with the original poster and others. When new members join or visitors browse through the topics and they see a lot of one word posts or nothing but smilies they could get the idea that this is a group of individuals who garden instead of a worldwide family of gardeners. Which I think I have heard GardenStew described as before.
So, we just have to make whole sentences. "I think that flower is simply gorgeous." I get now. So sorry to make light of this. It's just my nature. I do think it is a very good idea.
Thanks for the understanding and replies guys. Just want to clarify that I'm not suggesting that you post in an rigid structure / artificial manner. Please post naturally and don't fret over it. I just wanted to lend a helping hand to stick to the forum's original guiding rules that got us to the community we have
