Europe is a place that we had heard so much off, learned about it both historically and geographically in school, yummy foods and produce, YES WE WANT TO VISIT EUROPE!
Yesterday we finally did it, we bought ourselves flight tickets to Europe, more specifically London. We are going on an adventure of a life time, 6 months in Europe. We will be leaving on March 31st and returning on September 24th next year. We have never been away for such a long time before and we are both excited and a bit nervous about it.
We do not exactly have a solid plan yet but we know we want to visit United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. If time permits, Spain and Italy too.
This is not going to be a 100% tourist sightseeing kind of trip but an opportunity to experience the everyday way of life and culture of the people in each country we are visiting. We are going to do some sort of simple daily work as volunteers in exchange for a roof over our heads and hopefully, food as well! There are some websites on the internet promoting this form of travelling and we are studying some of them now before making use of them.
One of the things in the to-do list is to meet up with as many Stewbies as possible in the areas we are visiting. Having had discussions and sharing experiences over the internet, it would be great to meet up in person.
    Hope to see you !!!

I really admire your and Becky's adventurous spirit KK. Sounds like the experience of a lifetime. I do the same but to your part of the world instead and the things I've learned and experienced (mostly food!) are memories I will cherish forever.

    Remember to take your camera!

WOW KK! You are going to have the adventure of a lifetime! I envy your sense of adventure! That's a long time to be gone from home, but plenty of time to experience everything you want to see and do! Good for you. It will be fun to see your trip in pics on the Stew as you travel.

KK you and your honey should love it. I have checked out a few of those volunteer and stay in another country websites. Visiting London is on our bucket list. But not sure if we will ever get to that one.

While you are in Europe you should be sure and try to visit Czechoslovakia. Czechski crumlof which I spelt wrong is a neat 15th century town with the castle just outside the city and a river that runs around the whole small town. In 2003 we had the joy of visiting Germany and the Czech republic. Whatever you see it is a fantastic country. :stew1:

KK, are you getting the feeling that your "baggage" may include a lot of Stewies that are traveling with you through photos and descriptions of your adventures?
We are all so happy for you, and looking forward to hearing about your experiences. Bon voyage!

Thanks Eileen, we are still in the planning stage of where to go and how long to spent in each place. At the moment we are planning to stay in England for 2 months, one in the beginning of the trip and the other at the end because we have have relatives to visit. Yes we would love to visit Scotland if we can find a place to stay :-D

Thanks Frank, it is indeed going to be an experience of a life time. Yes I believe the experience and memories are going to be priceless. Can you speak any Asian language yet? Yes camera ... better put it in the luggage now :D

Thanks Toni, I'm trying to get a laptop to bring along for the trip ... hope I can get on line though!

Thank you so much Cayuga Morning, we are both excited and a little nervous about the volunteer work/in exchange for room goes. Will definitely post our experience after our first experience which I think will be in France.

Thanks Kay, six months away from home is a long time but I think it is going to be a short time while we are travelling.

    Thanks 2ofus, I will.

Tooty2shoes shall we meet in London? At this moment we are not sure whether we will be going to the Czech republic but Germany definitely. I will keep in mind your recommendation. It is the beauty, rich culture and yummy food that attract us to visit Europe.

Thank you Marlingardener, the more Stewies the merrier and we do have a very big luggage!
