First of all, I am thankful for the wonderful woman that I have been lucky enough to share the majority of my life with. Her flaming red hair first drew me to her in a Wisconsin skating rink in 1959. What kept me however is that she is a person of great character, who has a steadfastness of purpose, a gentle and forgiving nature and most of all has managed to put up with me for 45 years. With her Scottish ancestry and my Irish, we share a sense of Celtic wonder at the mystic world we inhabit. I love her and I am thankful for her. I am thankful for a gnome in Malmo who invented Gardenstew and thus provided a very diverse group of folks a forum to share thoughts and agree or disagree about what is on our minds. It has introduced us to many new friends around the world. The U.N. should learn how to do as well. I am thankful for these new friends as well. We have never, for the most part, met face to face, but there is a commonality among people that shows with every post. I am thankful for a freedom that allows us to partake of discussions like those on Gardenstew, because it leads to understanding and hopefully, understanding leads to acceptance and that to peace. It will happen. Most of all, I think, because yesterday is so far gone that it might as well have been a century ago, and as no one is given a contract on the sunrise, Then most of all I am thankful for today. dr
DR, your words speak to all of us. We spend our lives looking to tomorrow and miss our todays. And today is so very wonderful.
Dr you have a wonderful way with words, Thank-you. I am thankful for the rain on our fields with more in the forcast. I am thankful for our children still coming home with their families. Bless the stew for filling the empty places in my days.
You tell it like it is DR I'll pat my foot. I am most proud of my almost 37 years I got to spend with my dear Johnny before God called him home.Without him I would not have the family he left behind.
Very well said. Right now, I'm thankful for a moment's peace to visit here, and that my roof doesn't leak mostly.
Beautifully written DR. I am thankful everyday for my darling Mark who I met by chance. Thankful that he took the risk to telephone me to make a date. Thankful that he asked me to be his wife. Thankful that we have 2 beautiful healthy children who fill our lives with love, joy, frustration and happiness every single moment of every single day.
I am thankful for people like DR who can so eloquently put the same thoughts I have about each member of the Stew. And I am thankful for living in a country where the college education was (mostly) free and I was able to learn the skills to put this ramshackle site together
Very well said DR, thank you. I am thankful for family and friends and the health and strength God gives me every day.
