Jan asked for a picture of my really large rain gauge so here it is. The one I had for several years was about 8" tall and according to Randy's thinking, these old eyes of mine were probably having trouble seeing the numbers on it so he bought me one more appropriate for a woman of my advanced years
I had no trouble seeing the other one but he did. :-D

Also, I love after christmas sales especially when the prices hit the 75% off level. I found these two ladies at Bed,Bath and Beyond of all places. The other night there had been 6 or 7 of them and it had been niggling at me since then that I really would like to have one for the garden. Went over there just a few minutes ago and there were only two left. Trying to decide which one I wanted, I kept looking into each ones gorgeous eyes and found that I just couldn't take one and leave the other one there to be lonely or even heartbroken because she had not been chosen by anyone and would never know the pleasure of sitting in a garden. So I got them both.

Yep, all year round. I think one will be a bird feeder and one a birdbath.

I love your very large rain gauge. The last owner left one here and I have to walk to the end of the driveway to even see the gauge, let alone see if there is any water in it, so I listen to the news instead and that's not nearly as much fun.
love your Little old Ladies. Sorta reminds us of us.

Perfect ladies for your yard, they are so cheery looking. Love the new gauge too - now all you need is more rain to try it out and make sure it 'works'.

Glenda, when I bought one of my turtles the tag said if I wanted to put it outside I had to apply a clear protective coating. Maybe that's what your gnome's needed. My turtle is sitting in the kitchen under the edge of the counter. Maybe when it's warmer I will buy a spray and coat it. Dooley

Your ladies are lovely. Glad you didn't seperate them. That's the biggest rain gauge I ever saw. We religiously keep track of the rain here. First one out to the garden reports back.
