I didn't really have a space where I wanted to plant a post, so I had hubby craft a hanging bottle "rack" out of copper tubing so that I could suspend my bottle "tree" from a cedar tree branch. It's a bit of a bonus that it moves in the breeze adding just a bit of extra sparkle.
Oh, hanging it...that is something I never thought about. Yet another item on Randy's ever growing list of garden to-do's :-D ooops, forgot to add I like the way yours looks. I bet it is pretty when it spins
Wow,Great .That would be a bit hard for me as I have know trees that it could be hung from and can't you just see me climbing one to attach it.
ZZ, love your bottle tree. Glenda, when you climb the tree to to hang yours, could you have someone standing by to take a picture, please?
I'm afraid they would catch the shot on my way down. That picture might blur just a little. and then know more glendann.
Zuzu's bottle tree... Yes, I love that idea! One of these days I may get around to finishing my own tree, but sadly, I have twenty thousand things going on at once. So, I'll just admire yours for now. Karen Marie
Your bottle tree is simply fantastic!!! I would be a bit worried about hanging one in our garden as the winds would probably smash it so, like Kareen, I admire yours.
What a pretty thing. I love the red and blue bottles. Blue glass is my favourite. I bet it looks amazing when the sun glints on it.
I saw some bottle trees in a magazine just yesterday. They were sparse and frankly I couldn't like them. Now here comes yours, dense and colorful with sparkly glass bottles. Now THAT I would be proud to have in my yard.
Thanks everyone, I think it keeps the neighbors wondering about all the parties they weren't invited to. It's tougher than it looks, Eileen, we've left it hang right there through a couple of catagory 2 hurricanes.
http://www.backyardlivingmagazine.com/A ... 9&PageNo=2 I too was recently reading an article on bottle trees but yours ZuZu is much prettier. I did find the roots of bottle trees interesting. See link.
