Good Grief. This is way too many great pix to choose from. I have to go with the one that unbeknownst to the photographer is sitting on my desktop right now. 8)
Well it looks like we have a winner. Congratulations to Eileen for posting her long-awaited Kingfisher photo Commiserations to the other contenders but remember there is always next month! Enjoy seeing your photo on the home page Eileen :

Were you hiding behind a tree or what? What kind of zoom do you have? Just all you can think of." Bethie I actually stood on a bridge that looks over the River Almond and took the photograph with just my digital camera but on full zoom (6x magnification.) More luck than anything else as I was actually taking piccies of the trees coming into leaf!!! I must have shot off at least 30 photographs of the kingfisher but only that one was good enough to keep. We have a pair of these lovely little birds nesting in the river bank but they are sooo quick that's it's hard to capture them on film. Netty wrote: "Way to go Eileen." Thanks Netty I'm really chuffed it turned out so well.
Congrats Eileen, a picture well worth the honor of pic of the month. I am so happy you got your kingfisher.
