After seeing several of these made by some very clever folks, I just had to make a couple of them my self. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the other one which I gave as a birthday gift to a friend, but here's the one I made for meeee You can see the crystal chandelier drop better in this photo, I thought it added even more whimsy, all I need is a teacup feeder to position below it. The one I gave away was cuter, a traditional, flowery teapot, I'll have to try to remember to snap a shot next time I visit.
How come the birds always get the most swish looking pads? What's brewing up inside the pot Zuzu? Whatever it is slide me over a cuppa! Looks great, well done and thanks for sharing it with us.
Oh, how cute. I am making a thrift store trip today so I just added teapot to the list of things to look for.
Thanks all I can't take any credit for the main idea, but it was my touch to add the "drop" . . . . . . you all know I'm daffy for glass. Glenda, you don't really need a branch for one of these. Although I do have this one hanging from a branch for the photo, most of those that I have seen were mounted flat against the side of a post or building, and that is quite likely how this one will end up, as well. I did have hubby drill a hole through the bottom of the teapot so that we can mount it (with a screw) under the eaves of the house. I think it will really appeal to the wrens.
great idea ...lovelovelove it the drop makes it so real like floating in air.the tea cup with it (whene you get it)reminds me of alice in wonderland. i love fairytales. now i'm thinking of a clock hanging by a chain bird house to go along side, maybe, just athought.
A clock! . . . Oh, what a GREAT idea Melissa!! I like the way you think! :-D Now I'm adding that to my quest list.
