Description: Gator wrestling was start back during the ranching days. During the dry season the only water was from "gator holes". The gator would dig a hole about the size of the sand pit pictured. Because the water table is so high the hole would fill with water. These "gator holes" were the only source for water for cattle. A gator would get a free meal by grabbing the unlucky cow by the nose and pulling it into the hole to drown and eat. The main boss would tell the cowboys to remove the gator so as not to loose his profits. And so gator wrestling was invented.
