Description: Waxwings come through twice a year on their migration. When they do, they come in flocks of 50 or more, and eat all the berries from the hackberry trees and anything else that is bearing. Waxwings are one of the few birds who will eat more than they need--they just stuff themselves and what they don't need for nutrients comes out the other end. That makes them a prime mover of plants!
