For the past 5 years, I have posted a pic of my Sugar Maple in the fall when it is in all of it's glory. So here is # 6 !
I planted this tree myself when we first had the house put in. It was 3 ft tall and no bigger around than my index finger. I had 3 of them, but 2 had to come out when we put the garage in.
Captain, we don't get vibrant fall colors here in Texas, so I doubly appreciate your photo of that lovely tree in all its glory!
Nice tree. Wow, you still have leaves on it after yesterday? We about got blown away here. I see green leaves all over the lawn.
Our wind was out of the southwest and partially blocked by the garage. But some did come down. Some years the leaves stay on it, into spring and are finally pushed off by new leaves.
KK, yep, that's why it's called a sugarmaple. You collect the sap as it rises in the tree, usually in Feb or even early March. Then it has to be boiled down into syrup. If you continue to boil the moisture out of it, it becomes maple sugar candy.
Very pretty.Winds the past 2 days have taken most of our red leaves off.I thought one was pretty bird on wood pile. Thanks for sharing
