This morning when I checked on the planted bed I was pleasantly greeted with seedlings sprouting. They are growing, THEY ARE GROWING!!! YES! Chinese Long Beans ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Amaranth ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Beet Root ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Not all the seed "pots" had germinated, the bitter gourd and brassica have no sign of life yet too. Keeping fingers and toes all crossed.
I love long beans. I buy them fresh in Reading Market Philadelphia, Pa and dry them then grow them. Had to look up some of your other stuff. Looks yum.
Thank you all, I'm so pleased. Barb, I love long beans omelet and can already taste them already. I know how you feel Ronni, every time a seed that I planted sprout is exciting for me. Yes Mart I did have some doubts because of the soil conditions and I was not able to mulch the beds with grass clippings like I used to. I'm now putting in lots of TLC to make sure they grow to edible size or bear fruits for harvest. Some of the brassica sprouted this morning leaving only the bitter gourds to wake up. WOo!!!HOoo!!!
They are growing well and soon they will be ready for harvest ... yum yum!!! :-D Almost ready. ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) The bitter gourd did not germinate even though I add more seeds, maybe the seeds are in deep hibernation??? Just sowed cucumber where the bitter gourd was and hope something would happen.
