My world with Nature.Photographs, and a few words about the birds that visit the garden and those that I manage to see.
Winter birds returning.
Category: My wildlife images | Posted: Mon Nov 01, 2010 4:16 pm Yes, the birds come here for the winter. Many years we don't get any snow, and yes, we are in Canada. These were along the shore yesterday. The top is a Dunlin and the other a Black Turnstone. ![]() ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) ![]() ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) Last edited: Mon Nov 01, 2010 4:17 pm This blog entry has been viewed 462 times

Category: My wildlife images | Posted: Wed Aug 18, 2010 4:28 am Also, getting away from that, damselflies wings are held close together along the body when resting, of course those that study them know this but there are damselflies called spreadwings, and here is one. They spread their wings when resting. ![]() Spreadwing damselfly. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) This blog entry has been viewed 1912 times
Robber flies in Magazine.
Category: My wildlife images | Posted: Tue Aug 17, 2010 4:53 pm I have mentioned I'm sure that I get calls for insects images from a Garden Magazine. They call and if I have an image or two I email them to them. In September's issue they have published nine of my robber fly pics which is rather nice, I even get my name there with the author of the article. I have known this for a long time so its not 'I must tell someone' but I would like to add a picture in case people don't know what a robber fly looks like. By the way Jewell, did you get the book I sent? ![]() ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) [/img] This blog entry has been viewed 2111 times
Anise Butterfly.
Category: My wildlife images | Posted: Thu Aug 05, 2010 5:59 pm Here are the start and finished result of the Anise Butterfly. They do go through a number of changes. Had a nice surprise yesterday as one of the top publishers here signed up for our Nature Inn news letter. I have worked with him in the past but I didn't think he would be interested in my web site. He is the top guy on Bald Eagles and has the cams at different sites. ![]() ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) ![]() ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) ![]() ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) This blog entry has been viewed 1998 times
A couple of Caspian Terns.
Category: My wildlife images | Posted: Tue Jul 06, 2010 5:18 am There are a few caspian terns spending the summer down at the local lagoon. I visit it 2 or 3 times a week and had a chance to take some pics as they were on the ground and not fishing. ![]() ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) This blog entry has been viewed 2002 times

Hawaii's Canyon
Category: My wildlife images | Posted: Mon Apr 26, 2010 5:24 am Had a chance to see Hawaii's answer to the Grand Canyon. I must admit that it doesn't compare really, but if you haven't seen the Grand Canyon then this is quite impressive. Go down the page to play the slide show. We have lots of places that you can visit. You may wish to see some of the others too. The Canyon.Just click The Canyon This blog entry has been viewed 455 times
