Well. :headscratch: That last was not terribly enlightening.

    Hmmm.....

    Let's try this again.

Oooooooooh. I think I get it. When I'm posting a reply, I can click "Quote" on any of the messages I want, all at the same time!! I just scroll through the page of posts and click the "Quote" button on any of the posts that I want to quote. Then in my reply window, I click "Insert Quote" and it will add all the quotes I clicked on to my reply.

OK, going to post this now, and see if it actually worked like I think it did.

Yep, the developers of the forum software did a wonderful job! I'm going to write a full Quoting tutorial very soon to make it easier to understand for all.
Ronni, did you try just selecting a portion of a Message's text by clicking and dragging over the text? Try it and you'll see something cool :)

Well if the flowers took photos half as good as you Sydney I'd like to see a garden full of them :stew1:

Looks like everybody is going through some type of teething problems... I don't know, but I find this somewhat funny - Specially when I look at myself. :D Because I too am having a lot of trouble adjusting in the new set up. My problem is mainly visual, as being dyslexic in childhood means that I am very sensitive to color changes (mainly background color). So for me it all feels as if I was out for a few days, and when I returned back home, somebody rearranged the whole furniture - As well as gave a different color of paint to everything...

So everything is still there (nothing was thrown away), only I now can't seem to find it instantly. :snicker:

Anyway, before getting frustrated, (or infuriated) - Always keep in mind that this upgrade was really necessary. Many would think that it's change just for the sake of change. However this is incorrect, as there are too many technical issues under the hood, which the average non-technical user wouldn't be able to see. And so the longer Frank would have waited, the harder it would have become to upgrade in the future... So on the whole I am very happy that GardenStew is indeed moving ahead with the times!

I also hope that this will attract even more people (from all over the world) to join our community. Leading to better sharing of horticultural knowledge! In fact I have a suggestion to make on this issue, (for the next future upgrade). I have noticed that in the last 2 years Google Translate has really improved a lot. As before whatever it translated was laughable - Yet now it can easily fool me into thinking that whatever it has translated, was perhaps written in English... So if it would somehow become possible, to incorporate that kind of a language translation engine into GardenStew, then we just might get past the language barrier - Which up till now is probably keeping many people from joining us. People from super rich in plant life areas of the world that is, like Indonesia, Thailand, China, Japan, Russia, as well as most of South America, and huge portions of Africa too.

For example, few years ago my aunt visited Morocco (just for the fun of it, as she still likes to travel a lot). Anyway she told me that over there the King of Morocco once ordered that all main streets in the capital city of Rabat must have orange trees on either side of the road. So today whenever you drive over there, you sometimes feel as if you are actually in an orange orchard, (not in a city)! The people over there too are very nice, extremely welcoming, plus their food is also said to have a very interesting flavor. However, since they all mainly speak French and Arabic, means that we'll never have a GardenStew member from there... :smt090

I know this is easier said then done. But it's just my wish, to see members from all over the world - All sharing knowledge unique to their areas, along with personal first hand experiences, and wisdom too.

Thanks for this great new & updated version of GardenStew, Frank!
May take me a bit longer to work through it than others here (due to my handicap), but eventually I'll get the hang of things. So far, I like what I see :)

Thank you for sending me information on how to get into Garden Stew...I tried for quite a while doing all of the directions here but couldn't get on. I could only see the verification information on the contact page and then it kept spinning where it says I am not a robot...the other areas were all blank for verification.

Everything seems to be working just fine and it all looks great! Thank you for all of the time you put into it. Have a wonderful day! e1535ce2-d654-43f4-adf1-404b8f22af4a_Medium - Copy.jpg

Thanks Ronni! I couldn't remember my old password either so logged on with the jumble of letters also...but I couldn't figure out how to re-set it back to a 'more normal' password until I read your post. Now I have one I can remember. I'm still wandering around, trying to get used to the 'new' forums.

OK this is seriously cool! Being able to highlight and quote directly is WAY awesome!

But get this...an even MORE awesome feature!!! :smt026 See what I quoted above? ^ OK, now look in the bar at the top of the quote, where Frank's name is. See that tiny little upward-pointing arrow next to his name? If you click on that, it will take you directly to what you quoted! So efficient! :smt041

Finally had a little time to poke around more on the new site.
One old thing I can't find is I had "saved" some posts over the years... are those gone now? And is there a new way to do that? For instance, If I wanted to save a recipe, how would I do it and where would it be saved for viewing later?

Hi Cheryl, Saves in their traditional form are gone for now. However you can still view your previous Saves :) I will send you the link in a Conversation.

If anyone else would the old link to Saves please send me a Conversation also :stew2:

Bookmarking threads in your browser works essentially the same as the old Saves feature. That's what I would do for now.
