Hey there internet world, I am Magatron, 27 year old restaurant manager looking to expend my horizons and have a fantastic backyard. You got a green thumb? Then I need your advice! I have gardened once......and that was last year. Let's hope those perennials are as strong as they say. I know I can do it with your help! Moderator edited

Hi Megatron, welcome to GardenStew from north central Texas. From your avatar it looks like you have a good start on your gardening. What have you planted? We love photos of gardens, soon to be gardens, pets, local scenery, etc.
The picture is from last summer, when we created the space, a fire pit and another smaller garden. I planted all hardy perennials, lilies, cat mint, phlox, turtle heads, bee balm, obedient plants, blue muffin & dogwood shrubs. There is more in each of the two gardens but I can't even remember everything. This year, I want to plant a tree that flowers and smells beautiful that can survive the harsh Minnesota winters. I am all ears for suggestions!
