It’s always good to hire local help as it keeps the area economy vibrant. The winter birds have eaten thousands of seeds so I hired a cleanup crew to take away the husks. I wonder if they are doing a good job? I went outside to thank them and they all ran away. They appeared to be a shy group. Jerry
This is the clean up crew you hired...How much an hour? Maybe you can drive them over here. I love seeing the turkeys fly away. It is amazing that a bird that big can actually fly! Love seeing them fly.
One evening a group of three turkeys decided to call it a night. Then they flew up into a large white pine tree and there they roosted for the night. Those big wings have a lot of lifting power. Jerry
Yeah and you can hear the wings pretty loud depending on how close you are to them. I use to hear them from inside the house if everything was quiet.
I have never seen such a large flock of wild turkeys! I think you may have hired too many on your clean-up crew--but they all seem to be doing a good job! We have wild turkeys here in Texas, but not in our area, unfortunately. Perhaps if I put a notice in the newspaper "clean-up crew needed" we would get a few.
I could do with a couple of those turkeys when the sycamore seeds fly into the garden each year. They're a real pain to pick out of the shrubbery.
Haha Yeah he still have snow. He hasn't got the torch out to melt it all away. He wants to enjoy it some more before it all goes away.
