Morning all :) Currently 48º and sunny, high of 73º. Definitely a change from cloudy and chilly yesterday!

I might be getting a "new" car today! Its an 03 Pontiac Bonneville. Im trading in my poor Jeep for it (the jeep is slowly breaking down and its too much $$ to fix).

Ill be moving out of this house and down to Columbus IN next week! We've lived here 15 years, Im kind of sad to leave. But new adventures await! And we're only 30 mins from Brown County State Park! :D

Happy Friday afternoon. We got about 3 inches of rain yesterday. None so far today. Both rivers are way out of their banks.
More rain for the next week. I don't know how much more of this I can take! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Anyway... got my security system installed. So I guess that means that Sassy Marie is semi-retired now. LOL
Too late in the day to try to do anything, so I'm just gonna be lazy the rest of the day.

Good saturday morning all. Currently just 1 degree, and the frost is settling as we speak. I do hope that I covered my beans well! It is warming for the rest of the week and tomorrow is our typical frost date, so I will be planting this afternoon. Housework to do before I can go out, though, or it will never get done! Have a great day all :)

Happy Saturday morning. No rain yesterday and there's a glimpse of the sun this morning. A few errands this morning then hopefully I can get the mowing done.

Good Sunday afternoon all. Currently 25°C and sunny with clouds. We had a scheduled power outage this morning that was supposed to last from 7am-11am, but it lasted until after 12. I didn't get my chores done inside, but I did get all my shrubs and roses pruned and some plants divided. I am about to head out to plant the rest of my tomatos and peppers. The day is going much too quickly! Homemade pizza for dinner tonight and then back to work tomorrow. Where does the time GO?

Happy Sunday afternoon. Another inch of rain this morning. Hot and muggy now. But at least it's not raining. So I have ribs on the grill. :)

Good Monday morning all. Currently 15°C and overcast, with rain expected. We need the rain badly ... the fields are like dust. I got all my tomatoes and peppers in, as well as my cucumber and zucchini. That is the garden almost complete except for the dill and the cucamelon that I am having trouble finding. We neeed a good rain to water it all in. Off to work this morning and then skating with my daughter. Have a great day all :)

Happy Monday morning and Happy Memorial day. Yesterday was a good day, only that rain in the morning. Nothing the rest of the except clouds. So I took the opportunity to bbq the ribs.
This morning it's actually a little sunny. I'm going to try finish weeding and get to trimming some branches from the Crepe Myrtles. Then next on the list is the edging.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 20°C and overcast. It is going to be a hot one today! My daughter had her last skating class yesterday until September last night. TOday, she hangs up her skates and laces up her soccer shoes. It is the time of year when there is less time than there is things to do and so my day begins an hour earlier ... up at 4:30am now! Off for a busy day, have a great day all :)

Happy Tuesday morning. Beautiful day yesterday with lots of sunshine. I got the beds weeded. And even got to the edging, weed eating. Trimmed some branches, but can't haul them off to the burn pile in the pasture because it's just too wet, so I have a pile off to the side.
Almost 3 inches of rain overnight. No flooding at my house (or office). The flooding by the river has expanded... pretty much the usual spots that get flooded. But in Metro Houston, they really got it! Lots of road closures and flooded neighborhoods because the bayous are out of their banks. The storm drainage system "downtown" is a joke... it just can't keep up with what they are calling "catastrophic" rain fall. It made for an easy commute for me this morning since the traffic was so light without all the folks going into Houston. I actually left home 15 minutes late and still arrived to work before 8! :chuckle:
Rain in the forecast for the rest of the week... so still not too much I can do in the flower beds, especially in the back where it seems to stay wetter. Guess those last few plants I bought will just have to live in their pots a little longer.

Good morning all. We got home about mid-afternoon yesterday and had a very lonely cat to reconnect with. Our daughter was with him but he missed us, she said he was acting like he thought he would never see us again.
I have a few pieces of junque to show off, not much available out there this time and the clouds covered the stars at the star party but it was a really good trip.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 25°C and overcast. It is gonna be a record breaker today! Off to work at the crack of dawn to beat the heat and then home to (hopefully!) weed the spinach and greens bed. It is getting hard to tell what is the food and what is the weeds! Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Everyone looks bright and clear on my new monitor, the old one had dimmed ever so slowly until the backlight went out yesterday afternoon. Hadn't realized how dim it was until this new one was turned on last night, almost feel like I need sunglasses to read the posts. And yes I have an idea for making the old monitor and an old keyboard into a garden feature. :D

This morning it is sunny and 72 deg. No rain on the radar except for what is down over Houston and points east of there, Cheryl is getting more rain today.
I am sort of glad to have warm and sunshine today for a while anyway, some of my plants are turning black and dying from so much water and no sun.

Happy Wednesday afternoon. Yes Toni... more rain this morning. I'm guess my house got another 2 inches before I left home this morning. It was rainy all morning, so I'm sure there's at least 3 inches. The Trinity River area is flooded and getting worst. They are releasing more and more from the dam at Lake Livingston.
Where I live is just saturated. The ditches haven't overflowed that I can see, yet. Seems it's the usual low areas that are flooded.
The rain has stopped for now... but more is expected this evening. And the news just said the area could get another major downpour like we had on Monday night over the weekend.
I keep pulling dead and dying plants. Even my spicy bell peppers that are in big pots are dying. My peach tree is dead (not sure I can blame that on the water) but dead is dead.
So happy my brother my left me a small row boat... might need it soon.
But... I do have some stuff in bloom. Took their portraits while I had the chance. Will post shortly.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 15°C and overcast. We had hot temperatures and humidity yesterday, and then thunderstorms. I was out planting annuals in the rain before soccer yesterday. I need to stop and buy more on the way home today. Off to another joyous day at work. Have a great day all :)
