Good morning all! Interesting sports day here in Ireland as we take on Argentina in the Rugby World Cup. I don't know if you are interested in rugby but I think should put up a good fight. At least we haven't met New Zealand yet, now they're a great team
Weather has stayed nice all week. Today is a little cloudy and it has got very nippy. Definitely have to wrap up when you go outside now.
    Have a great Sunday all!

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -2°C and overcast. There were a few little ice pellets on the hood of my car this morning. I guess I should be thankful ... just an hour north of here got several centimeters of snow overnight! I have so much to do today I'm not sure where to begin, so I think I'll start with a big cup of coffee! Have a great day all :)

Morning all. Starting out at 64F/17C this morning....feels so good outside, nippy and breezy but still dry as a bone. Just realized that my peanut supply has run out, the Blue Jays are squawking loudly and the squirrel will be chittering at me soon. I'm a terrible mother. :( But I am back to feeding the cats that wander through my back garden, trying to keep them from feasting on the birds out front. To see them scratching at the ground to get birdseed it makes me sad....and angry at their callous owners who just turn them out when they are no longer cute kittens.

Good morning all! Looks like all the time in the chilly field last week has landed me with a cold so I'll definitely be trying a hot whiskey with honey soon :whistling:

Have a top start to your week all!

Hope you are feeling better soon Frank!
Good Monday morning all. Currently 0°C and cloudy. I am dressed in my woolies today ... 3 days left to go! I am not a fan of gardening in the cold weather or snow, but cleanup needs to be completed, and bulbs planted. Skating tonight with my daughter ... its her late night too, so bedtime will be late. Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 13°C and overcast. What a change from yesterdays morning temperatures! Fall cleanup continues at work today ... still pulling frost bitten annuals as well as cutting back perennials and some shrubs. We are creating an enormous amount of compost ... hopefully it doesn't get contaminated over the winter while I am away. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. Wonderfully chilly here but also not so wonderfully dry. The humidity is on the rise so there is some moisture in the air and that should help firefighters in the effort to put out the multitudes of wildfires happening in the state. Some computer weather models are predicting up to 5 inches of rain for my area from Friday through Saturday. The soil is so concrete dry there will be a lot of runoff and flooding if we get that much too quickly and nothing will be helped by that.

Good morning all. The humidity level for the past week or so has been desert dry, hovering around 15%.....today it has jumped to 81%. What that means is there is a better chance that the rain forecast for us this week will actually happen, now it's just a matter of if and how much my garden will get. Usually our moisture comes up from the Gulf of Mexico but this time it is coming from the Gulf of California (which is between the Baja California Peninsula and Mexico) and is supposed to be good thing as it increases our chances and amount of rain.

Not only am I feeding the stray cats in the backyard, as usual I have started naming them. Sparkles is a beautiful Calico Cat whose eyes appear to sparkle when she looks at you.....she is very pregnant. There is another solid black one, probably a 'next litter' sibling to our Spooky, that I have started calling Velvet. A young black and white ? that is still very skittish....hence the name Skitter. And a huge tom that will for now, from a distance, be known as Mister.

Good day all. Overcast all day, a little coolish and very humid. I have been cleaning out my craft closet, not much is going away afterall I paid a pretty penny for all of that good stuff. But it is easier to find now. Some reason I would much rather organize my goodies than actually do anything with them.:worried:
But I have been listening to CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival), BeeGees, Tom Jones and who knows what oldies will strike my fancy next.:setf_007:

Good Thursday evening all. Currently 10°C with strong winds. Tried to check in here early this morning and it said 'website unavailable'. That threw me right off my routine and started my day off badly. So glad I can end it better :)
One more day at work and then I can begin my fall cleanout! Who knew anyone could be so happy about cleaning? I can't wait :)

Good morning all! The weather has turned slightly gloomy / overcast, perfect coming up to Hallowe'en I suppose :) Almost over my cold now so hopefully I'll be back to full energy mode soon.
The web host was performing some routine maintenance yesterday so that explains the short downtime :nerdy: I didn't start a thread about it beforehand as my web host told me it would be a very short period.

    Have a top Friday all!

I figured it was something as simple as site maintenance. Not too many people besides myself are awake at that ungodly hour, Thanks Frank!
Good Friday morning all. Currently 0°C and clear. Last day at work today and there are lots of little things left to do. I am confident that it will all get done. Picking up my son today for a week home!
Have a great day all :)

GOOOD Morning ALL!!!! After 43 days of hot and dry, we have rain. It started last evening about 5:15 and has been off and on since then. The official rain gauge is no longer a virgin, this morning when I took the measurement for CoCoRaHS there was 1.80 inches in it. Started coming down pretty heavy again a few minutes ago. And lots of thunder and lightning so the plants are really enjoying the shots of extra nitrogen.....they might all start looking pretty again.

We have rain, lovely rain! The rain barrels are overflowing, the big 25 gal. cubes are filling, and everything looks so perky after almost three months of no measureable moisture! (Can anyone see Toni doing the happy dance?"
We are moving furniture back into the living room and re-arranging a few things. It feels more like home now and less like a very attractive bowling alley lane!
