Good Thursday morning all. Currently 4°C and clear. I stepped out of routine and did my errands and shopping yesterday. I thought I had to pick up my son from college around lunch time today, but as it turns out his last class doesn't end until 6pm. This cleared up my day and so I'm going to can some beans (which have been soaking overnight), clean, and put up the Christmas tree. I'll pick up my son tonight, and then take him shopping tomorrow while his sister is at school. I still haven't finished my Christmas shopping so maybe I'll get that done tomorrow too. Have a great day all :)

Good morning all. My day started with a scare.....our next door neighbor had borrowed Randy's impact wrench last night to change a tire, she brought it back this morning and I stepped out to get it off the porch......Wizard crept out the door before I could stop him. We spent several minutes following him around the front yard calling his name. I propped the front door open and went around behind him and he zoomed back into the house. We think he realized that the outside was cold and wet and not the same place he used to roam while living with Doug. But now he is wandering from window to window meowing. I had been getting upset by his forlorn meowing, wanting to contact the out door cats he knew were there, but a few terrifying minutes of fear of loosing him makes that meowing something that doesn't bother me any more.... at least he is with us to make that noise.

So glad you managed to catch him Toni. I know my cat tries to get outside when the weather is nice as well, but she doesn't bother this time of year. Its a really bad feeling when she does get out, and it lasts until she is caught again.
Good Friday morning all. Currently 0°c and overcast. Picked up my son from school last night, and my eldest was over with her fiancee, so for a short while I had everyone under one roof. Youngest has one more day of school today, and then the holidays begin! Have yet to finish my Christmas shopping, hopefully I take get that done today. Have a great day all :)

Toni, give Wizard a good cuddle, and perhaps he will calm down.
Nicest thing happened to us early this morning--a call from one of the cookie recipients from yesterday, thanking us for the cookies, card, and thoughts!
Cleaning house today and doing extra laundry. With all the kitchen towels and hand towels I've been using while doing holiday baking, the towel basket got very full! Fortunately we are sunny and dry enough to hang laundry out--54 degrees and with a very light wind, so perfect for fresh, outside smelling laundry!

Good afternoon all! The floods have dissipated in many areas so the damage can now be assessed and tracked. The government has a damages fund available for commercial and residential properties but I don't think it will be enough.
We lost a young cow yesterday to an unknown illness. He was staggering early yesterday so the vet was called. However just two hours after the vet left he had succumbed. Very sad for my folks and it upset me a good deal also.
    Enjoy your Saturday all!

So sorry about the young cow, hopefully the illness isn't something that can spread to the rest of the herd.

Good morning all. A little chillier than the recent mornings so it's more seasonal but with the temps being close to 70 degrees for highs this coming week the morning lows are the only semblance to seasonal weather we have.

I think we got all our gift buying done yesterday. We had ordered many things online last month, yesterday was just finishing up on a late list of ideas from oldest daughter. Now to get things wrapped. And I am still knitting on the two items for I started last week....would have been finished but I didn't like the way either of them came out so I changed needles sizes and started over.
Oldest daughter and her youngest are in the play Scrooge this week, we have tickets for this afternoons performance...that should be fun.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -2°C and sunny. The weather was nasty yesterday ... strong winds and snowsqualls, but thankfully the snow didn't stick around. Today the sun is shining and the wind is gone, but there is snow in the forecast again tonight. Either way, it's not looking like it is going to be a white Christmas. That is fine with me, as long as I have my family here I don't mind what happens outside. Maybe some baking to do today, but I am a little preoccupied. My son-in-law-to-be has had a headache and vomiting for 4 days now and they are finally getting it checked out this morning. Until I get an update I think I am going to have a bit of trouble concentrating, but I would like to keep myself busy until then. Have a good day everyone.

Good Monday morning all. Currently 4°C and raining. Son-in-law-to-be was treated for dehydration and sent home. Phew! I did get some baking done, but I am far from finished. Today we bake some more! No skating tonight, so we should get lots done. Have a great day all :)

Netty, I'm so glad your future son-in-law will be all right. Sounds as if he had a bout of flu. Enjoy your baking, and I hope he soon feels up to enjoying your baking, too!
Overcast and 65 degrees here so I will use the dryer on laundry day. I'd rather hang it on the line but we might get some sprinkles. I think I'll give the kitchen a good cleaning--with all the baking and prep work, the counter looks less than pristine!

Good morning all. Today is the Winter Solstice, happens at 10:49 p.m. Central Standard Time. So starting tomorrow the days will be slowly lengthening.....bummer, I happen to like the night and will miss the long hours of relief from the blazing sun.
The weather guy last night was saying that real winter weather might arrive sometime on Sunday, but that happens after a possible Saturday of rough Spring like weather. Just once this year I wish Mother Nature would consult her calender and get with the schedule.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 7°c and overcast. Lots of baking done yesterday, but I ran out of brown sugar so I have to go buy some this morning. I still have a few small gifts to pick up as well.
Todays high is expected to reach 13°C! NOT very Christmas like, but I am not complaining. Have a great day all :)

Good afternoon all! It has got a bit colder here finally. I think I saw my first robin of winter today :) Always a good sign. Three lambs were born last night, all healthy :like: We have a few relatives home this Christmas so it promises to be a busy one
    Enjoy your Tuesday all!

:smt034 I'm dreaming of a dryyyyyy Christmas! It's wet, it's windy, it's going to get worse tomorrow because then we'll have some natural fireworks to brighten our twilight day. But we've got cocoa, a nice tree, lots of decorations and lights, and we're going to have a lovely evening today no matter what. So there!
