Oh, Netty, someone saying they are going to a chainsaw safety course is just so unusual to hear. Most of the guys around are too macho for sissy safety courses....that could explain the abundance of ambulance sirens in the neighborhood in the fall. Have fun there.

Sunny skies and chilly, the temps will be rising into the 70s by the weekend but there is another front coming late next week.

We leave in the morning, if Randy has his way we will be leaving way too darn early for my pleasure, to spend our weekend in the Airstream trailer in Wimberley https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/577410. Got my knitting and a book all ready, will finish packing tonight and youngest daughter will be spending two nights here to keep Wizard happy and fed. And yes, Randy did find a couple of junque stores there that we can visit before check-in tomorrow and/or after check-out on Sunday.

Have a great trip Toni, I can't wait to hear all about it :)
Good Friday morning all. Currently -13°C and sunny with strong winds. I did not expect it to be so COLD this morning! Have a date to skate with my daughter today, and tonight I get to pick up my son for a whole week! My dog is 'hiding' in the bathtub from our scary smoke alarm. The battery needed changing and so it was beeping. I have since changed the battery and tested it but she is still trembling. Not sure how to calm her down so I'm just going to leave her there LOL Have a great day all :)

Netty, keep a bottle of Bach's Rescue Remedy for Pets on hand for when she gets nervous. Put a few drops in her water bowl for daily care and for scares like the alarm, put a few drops in the palm of your hand and either rub her nose or let her lick your hand. It works wonders on pets (and they have a formula for humans too that works great)

We are packed for our trip, the cat is suspicious and needy but we should be leaving in a few minutes. Really looking forward to sitting on the deck with my knitting and/or book all day tomorrow. And walking round a bit for nature photos and just breathing in the fresh air.

    See you all Sunday evening.

Today is Saturday, Feb. 27. Tomorrow will be Sunday, Feb. 28 and then comes the extra day this year. Monday, February 29th. What will you do with your extra day? Since it's not a Sunday or a holiday I guess a lot of people will just be going to work as usual. Since I've passed the working day era I think I will just stay home and do some sewing. I sewed shopping bags with Easter bunnies and chicks this morning. I'll find some children riding the bus this coming week and give them one. I still have three of them to sew. You all have a great extra day for this year. I said you could have a great day so do it! dooley

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 2°C and overcast. I have a lovely walk with the dog this morning ... the weather was mild, the wind was finally gone, and I could hear birds singing! I really miss the sound of birds singing during the winter! Only another 20 days until spring officially begins! Not sure what I'm going to do today, but I can guarantee some of it will be outside. Have a great day all :)

Good afternoon all! The weather, while chilly at times, has been pretty nice for the last few days :smt041 Rejoice! The land is starting to dry out a little which is great for the animals.
We've had a national election here on Friday and the counting has been going on around the country over the weekend and it still continues. I hope once a new government gets in they will take steps to prevent the awful flooding that was experienced this winter (and act on other promises ).

    Have a great Sunday all!

Sunday isn't a day of rest around here! We planted the second batch of lettuces and carrots, and did a little bit of pruning before the wind came up. I hate trying to prune when you have to catch the branch first!
Bull riding comes on the TV soon, and after that I'll bake some bread to go with dinner.
Maybe Sunday is a day of rest:rolleyes:!

Yep! Today was Sunday. We saw a small laptop advertised in the paper so called our son who took us to buy it. But, he was busy and couldn't help set it up. That's okay, it has to charge anyway. I read all of the papers that came with it and could maybe make it work once it's set up. It has Wi-Fi and we have a Wi-Fi router that covers the apartment so maybe I can get it set up. If not, I'll call our son and see if he can do it when he has time. It's no hurry since I have a small seven inch tablet. dooley

Good Monday morning all. Currently -4°C and overcast with strong north winds. It's a little hard to take after yesterdays record breaking temperatures. I did manage to spend most of the day outside, and even BBQ'd some pork chops for dinner. Snow storm expected to hit tomorrow, I really hope its the last one! Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -12°C and overcast. The red sky this morning was a reminder of the winter storm we are expecting to hit late this afternoon. They say this will be the heaviest snow fall we have seen this winter! I'm heading out this morning to get some dogfood and then home to batton down the hatches. Have a great day all :)

It's snowing out this morning. It said, "flurries", but it's really coming down. I hope it doesn't last too long. dooley

Dooley, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to get a skiff of snow and not any measurable amount. No one should have to suffer snow in March.
It's overcast this morning, so it's the perfect time to water the vegetable gardens thoroughly, then plant a rose or two. Husband will walk the yard with me and we'll decide where to put our new roses in the flower beds. I removed two ornamental grasses that weren't all that ornamental, so we have two spots open, just need five more!

It's March! Yay!!! I'm sooo hoping for spring now. Temps are just above freezing, the snow's melting a bit but the birds haven't started singing yet. Well, the great tit has chirped a bit. We've got a snowdrop bloom and that's it just now. Enjoy your Tuesday.
