Ronni, when my husband and I were vacationing in Jamaica, we did some white water rafting. The guide was a little leery of having me on board (guess I didn't look like the adventurous type) but by the time we got through the rapids and I had helped push the raft off rocks, we were best buddies. It is a lot of fun, but you have to suspend your "I want to live" feeling!
This is great! "You have to suspend your I want to live feeling!" Yeah, I really get that! Between it, and the zip lining and aerial trekking, and horse riding, and the various other summer adventures I have planned both here and in California when I go visit my family there, I expect to have a wealth of things I can cross off my bucket list ... with the funny/goofy photos to match! Y'know, I've had one or two people question whether or not I'm too old to be doing this kind of thing, that I'm not as coordinated or I'm more fragile or don't move as quickly etc., And while all of that is true to a degree (I mean, I surely am not as quick at 63 as I was in my 20's, I get that) still I don't FEEL old. Seriously, you're gonna have to drag me, kicking and screaming, into that old age mindset. I will NOT get old gracefully, or graciously, or without a damn good fight!
Ronni, I'm a 17 year old living in a nearly 70 year old body. So many of my acquaintances, and family, just settled down to die as soon as they hit 60. I'll join you in that ungraceful, ungracious fight! We can conquer the world, it will just take a little longer . . . .
Sounds like a blast to me Ronni! I am jealous! Zip lining & aerial adventuring sound like such fun! Wish I could go with you!
