Well, in town we found the shoes of a five-legged horse (we did find five shoes, and the natural assumption is . . . .). Here we've found bits of metal, pop-tops from soda cans, and more old car tires than I care to count. When the county had it's spring clean-up day when we could bring anything to the dump, I took a pick-up truck load of old tires. Gosh, were they pleased to see me. I envy you for finding such a great artifact, and wish we'd find something like your pipe bowl. Hope springs eternal.
Nice find! My father-in-law once found a flint spear head near his home. He donated it to the museum. They thought it was 2,000 years old. I'd love to find something like that outside, and not the glass shards, shrapnel and rusty bolts and nuts we find aplenty.
I would have been over the moon to find a flint spear head. I once found a ceremonial point with the very tip broken off. It made my heart race. hahaha.
