Hi everyone (nice forum!) I'm a Granny from Ohio and am working on filling my bedroom with houseplants. So far I have 16 air plants (Tillandsias) that are starting to get new leaves which is very exciting since I've never had Tillys before. I also have a blooming Phalaenopsis Orchid that just started two new buds which I'm also thrilled about since she's my very first orchid as well. Also in the mix is a baby snake plant, silver Philodendron (also babysitting my DIL's two big pathos), Dracaena (Florida Beauty) and a Croton (Lauren's Rainbow) and a Moon Cactus. These last three I'm hoping not to kill since I'm not too sure if I'm getting the lighting right. I also have six plants I will be growing in water and they are starting to get nice roots though I'm not sure the creeping ivy will be successful as a water plant. I joined because I recently took leaf cuttings from my DIL's three overgrown succulents that she was given by friends. I am trying to find out what they are (never had succulents before) so I can determine if I can grow them as houseplants. What forum should I post pics of them on for help on their identity and care? Looking forward to getting to know everyone! ~Marie

Hi GrannyMarie, welcome to GardenStew from rainy north central Texas. Looking forward to seeing your plant photos, I don't have a lot of houseplants but some of our members have an obsession with them so IDs shouldn't be difficult.
Hi granny from Iowa. I'm fairly new here as well. But have found these to be some of the only nice people left on the internet. There all very helpful and encouraging. Welcome to the forum and I look forward to seeing your plants.
Thanks for the welcome, Eileen. Scotland! You must have some beautiful plants and flowers there where you live!
