I know, I know. I keep posting pictures of the back porch. You're probably all getting SO bored with 'em, but I'm just so dang tickled the way everything turning out back there. We spend so much time out there, and it's just really comfortable and homey. Thanks for indulging me. The red, the cat, and the distant pots that are growing like crazy [ Several views of the sitting area.
That porch is absolutely gorgeous. It looks comfortable and feels cozy. I really like the result Ronni. Chapeau on a job well done.
It just gets better and better Ronni. No we are not bored in any way with your photographs - they are a real pleasure to see. If I ever get a porch I'll take tips from you on how to furnish and decorate it. Keep those pictures coming.
Thank you all. We're gearing up to have a very informal barbecue at Ed's house on Memorial Day. Just his kids ... well, kid...the other one is in Sweden right now, lucky thing!! And whoever of my kids can come. A couple might be working, but at least Paige and hubs and the two grand babies will be able to make it. Ed has a great kid yard...tether ball, sandbox, swing set...from when his kids were little. He's going to buy a little preformed wading pool too, just for some extra fun for them. And the porch is right there for preggo Paige. She can sit in the glider and relax and watch the kids play while Ed cooks and the rest of the fam hangs out, frisbees, shoots hoops in the driveway. The porch will get very well used!! Should be a nice afternoon.
We had a great time!! Ed presided over the BBQ and made some delicious hamburgers and bbq chicken...you can just barely see him in the back of this great shot my son in law snapped. The kids loved playing on the porch with the toys he still had from when his kids were little. Every now and again they'd take a break from the porch toys and go have fun in the sandbox and water stuff we'd set out for them to play with. They fooled around in the yard too...tether ball and wagons and wading pool and sandbox stuff. And of course the dogs were part of the fun!! We all stuffed our faces too....Ed made his special pasta salad, and we had beans and watermelon and chips and dip, and I made a banana cake for dessert. And a bonus pic of my lovely and very pregnant daughter, who really enjoyed lounging around on the porch watching the kids play.
Your porch is obviously a favourite with everyone Ronni. I think it's one of the nicest family areas I've ever seen and your family all seem to agree. So glad you all had a wonderful day together but I have a feeling everyone is going to have an early night after all the festivities.
What a sweet thing to say Eileen! Thank you. It ain't no House Beautiful porch that's for sure but it is exactly MY kind of porch....laid back, well worn, colorful and comfortable. And yeah, you're right, Paige said the kids went right to sleep...always a treat when you have young ones! Which allowed Paige to turn in early and that was a treat for her! And Ed and I both crashed out early we were so tired...but it was a good kinda tired, y'know?
