After about 5 years of almost constant drought, this year the Monsoon season seems to have arrived in full strength - And almost a month early too! In rest of the world, I often hear people complain - Yes, actually complain, that it often rains in their areas. They clearly have not been roasted to a crisp in my climate, nor have had periodical droughts which easily last for as long as 5 years... Anyway, since the last 2 to 3 days, Southern Pakistan's coastline (and specially Karachi city) has been getting torrential rains constantly! So now the heatwave will finally be under control. Which basically means that air conditioners won't be exploding this season! Anyway, these pictures are from yesterday afternoon.
Whoa, take care and don't go out in that if you can help it. My part of the state has had a decent amount of rain this year but no one is ready to declare the 5-10 year drought over, the weather conditions just are not stable enough for that.
Wow just look at that sky,..such a huge change from your usual,..here's hoping there are no floods in your area. It will be interesting to see what plants appear from the rainfall.
I am not KK... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Once in a blue moon do I ever get to see a good rain - And now you are suggesting that I don't go outside in that??? OK, don't worry, as I won't be attempting to fly a kite in that weather like Ben Franklin once did... But I will be driving around and doing everything that is considered silly! Karachi city doesn't get flooded anymore, (thanks to the new mega drainage system)...
Okay, I am guessing that you may have seen the movie Singing in the Rain .... I tend to do a lot of splashing through water puddles on rainy days. I don't even own an umbrella, rain coat or golashes I LOVE rainy days.
I've been reading about Moonson only in the books when I was at school and you have this on a daily bases. In my country whereas at last years was a big drought.
You must be so glad to see the rain at last S-H. I hope it manages to soak into the ground but doesn't cause any flooding. Your garden plants must be dancing with joy.
So I was going to complain about you getting rain and not me.....but about 5:30 this morning all you know what broke loose over our heads. But no I wasn't out singing and dancing in that, I would have been blown down the street if I had tried.
