Barb, so happy to hear you are out in your gardens again! Just don't overdo and stress your newly mended bones.:smt041
I pulled the green bean plants--frost on Saturday night got them, but luckily I was out Saturday afternoon picking beans, lettuce, and peppers. I think the peppers are done, too, but am waiting to see what they look like next week.

I still have some celery in the back garden. Most all the things got taken over with weeds. Hubby couldn't keep up with doing both of our jobs...He brought me in 2 celery so far...very good...There must be 10 more out there. I will get out there and get them soon. That is a hard task but I will do it...

That fone step-counter shows another example of why gardening is good exercise for a body.

Had today off. Gardening is done for the year. But I did manage to get out and get all the leaves up off the ground from the main yard and put into compost

Now now, Cjay and Raddang, some of us don't have enough leaves (this is not a hint for y'all to ship us some!). I collect the leaves from the few deciduous trees we have and either use them for deep bedding in the hens' coop or add them to the gardens. We have Sandy Creek nearby, lined with pecan trees, and I go down and collect leaves there, but with all the rain we've been having I may have to take a pontoon boat to get the leaves. I can't drive the truck down since it's so muddy and I don't want to get stuck, so if I collect leaves along the creek bank, I'll have to fill bags and drag them uphill to the truck. I do hope none of the neighbors go by while I'm doing this--they have their doubts about my sanity already.

Checked the camera and fed the birds. Ground is way to wet to walk on to prepare the beds further...hopefully another few days and I cam make the debris blankets for the veggie beds.
I did lift the mirabilis and ginger roots to store dry over winter.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, so I actually got productive. I cleaned the flowerbed by disposing of dead foliage, dumping pots of dead annuals and putting down a layer of mulch. I found what I think might be a chrysalis (it looked like a green worm-thing inside a silk bundle...couldnt find anything like it on Google though), so I left it where it was, and worked around it.
My bed looks so much bettr, so maybe the HOA wont go crying about it haha

Not a lot to do in the lottie these days---before the ground was to wet and sticky to work in...now, with this cold snap the ground is frozen. Tch !
What I CAN do though is harvest some sprouts. I have harvested three times now. The last harvest was a bit much and so we froze some in after separating enough for a meal.

Cor, I do lurve those fresh sprouts.

The birdies are really enjoying the the suet balls and seeds. That makes me happy.

I dare not venture in the garden to work at the moment and missing what I could be doing.
