It's harvest time for these lovelies...my goodness, I am so proud of these plants. I can say enough and how much joy these plants gave me by watching them grow hydroponically since 10/16/2016!! So hold on and enjoy the ride with me..but if I were you..I would go back to my post "New Babies For Winter" and look at the before to now.

Things are progressing so well for you there.
If you get the timing right, you'll be eating your own fresh veg all year round.

Ach meid....no pressure. I am just interested. It is true though, that hydroponic gardening is not common on here...but in your situation it is the answer to your need to garden and eat good veg. I am not kidding when I say that I have enormous respect for your accomplishments.

Those all look so yummy. I wish I had a window that got more sun light. I would love to try that.

Thanks sjoerd...you're my biggest fan so you may be a bit biased..lol. But thank you for sharing this journey with me...
Thank you Major..an empty room and you can do it.
Thanks Tootsy...most of my plants aren't grown in the window..they have to be moved to the grow lights where there are no windows. Most people just use the lights only.

You are too right about that, Hummer. I can be so enthusiastic for you and what you are doing. I mean you are so successful with your operation. Every time you show some remarkable progress or harvest foto's I am continually amazed and so happy for you. Keep it up!!

Uh oh--- did the leaves turn yellowish?...or perhaps very dark green? Did they suffer from the
    "big meal"?
Those kale leaves are looking super.

We eat a lot of this plant in the winter--a dish called stampot. With this vegetable it is called boerenkoolstampot. The bride makes it and in the middle she makes a depression with the jus spoon and fills that with gravy and the plops a big meatball into the "nest". There are many vartieties that we eat...we just vary the veg.

Oh, I forgot to say: she makes mashed potatos and then tears-up pieces of kale leaf and stirs that through the mashed potatos. Usually fresh leaves; however, sometimes folks blanch the leaves first before adding to the mashed potatos.

Anyhow--your kale is looking very tasty.
