Netty and Gail, if you want more summer, come on down to Texas!
It has been hot, dry, and hotter yet with no relief in sight. We've been watering the remaining garden plants, watering the hens, and watering the herbs. Does sweat count as watering?
Dooley, I'm glad you had no flooding, and hope you stay safe and high and dry.

I'm referring to dryer weather and sunny days in their 60s with a nice breeze...no no no I couldn't do your temps sorry I would be bad as I have MCTD and i'm dreading the cold and winter :crying:...I do feel for you and sweat as long as it's dripping counts as watering...just flick your body now and again ;)

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 24°C and overcast. There's a chance of rain today, and I am keeping my fingers crossed for an early work day.
Lots to do today, plus getting my daughter to the rink and then across town to registration night. I'm leaving the house at 5:20 am and wont be home until after 8pm.
A short work day would sure make things easier for me!
2nd day of school for my daughter as well, and I'll have to pick her up at school to get her to the rink on time.
Have a great day all :)

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 12°C and cloudy.
I had a great but short sleep, and I'm now off to work for the day. After work a quick stop at the grocery store, and then home to celebrate my sons 22nd birthday!
Time flies, feels like just yesterday that I brought him home from the hospital!
Have a great day all :)

Morning all. I have pretty much stopped watering. What doesn't survive in these hot and dry conditions should not have been planted in the first place and many of my Texas natives or well adapted plants are not doing so good either. Besides when you get a $125.00 water bill you know it's time to back off.
Thankfully the real temp is hovering in the mid-90s now but then there are the feels like temps that are still in the 100+ range.

Good Friday morning all and TGIF! What a long week!
I'm off to work and then to a clients garden, but then home for a much needed long weekend.
Lots to do but it looks like a rainy weekend.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning fellow members...have a lovely relaxing weekend :)

I'm planning on cutting my weeping willow today, cut off dead rose heads, removing more Cordyline shoots, trimming my Salix's and also lavender plant and then on to sweeping the yards and filling bird baths.

Temp this morning 54F dull at present but top temp 72F

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 18°C and foggy. It's really damp this morning!
I had a nice long walk with the dog, and now I am having a special treat of coffee - I haven't been drinking coffee regularly for almost a year - but some days I feel like a cuppa.
I haven't really planned my day yet, but I do know there is cleaning that needs done, and lots of tomatoes to do something with. I also have some skating club business to take care of, grass to cut, weeding to do and hubby wants to start working on the log pile. It sure sounds like I'm going to be busy!
Have a great day all :)

Compared to Netty's plans, I'll be lollygagging! I watered the tomatoes and peppers, picked cherry tomatoes and cut a squash, harvested more herbs and hung them to dry. Now I'll make a double batch of French bread and put it to rise.
Rain is a possibility for the middle of next week--I certainly hope so because I'm tired of hauling water!
