The photos say it all. These next photos are of Gaudí's Sagrada Familia, a basilica designed by Gaudí in 1882 or thereabouts. It is still under construction, 136 years later. They hope to complete in by 2026, the 150th anniversary of his death. Interesting details everywhere you look.
Absolutely spectacular!! All that work undertaken by hand - long before power tools were invented. Amazing.
Beautiful pictures @Cayuga Morning and some are more delightful than others in side... I used to go grave stone hunting years back for my family tree (excuse the expression)….these old churchs is where most of my dads family are besides christening / weddings and funerals. Holly Trinity church St Peters This church is beautiful inside and out Lichfield Cathedral https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attra...ationId=101&albumid=101&filter=7&ff=353871261
Well I don't know if you'll know the area but it's shortheath, Willenhall UK and the added link with Lichfield Cathedral is in Lichfield Staffordshire it's stunning in side with old tombs and St peters is the same. This link on St Peters shows how large the grounds and church are. http://www.wonderfulwolverhampton.co.uk/businesses/st-peters-church/
Well Cayu, I certainly did enjoy your foto's of some of Barça's sites. It takes me back. Thanks a mil for showing them. Gaudi's architecture really is unique isn't it. The whole of Barça is lovely with so much historical things to look at...but also the Rambla's markets and simply street scenes. It was/is a great city to visit. Thanks again for posting these piccies.
SJ, I was also impressed with how clean the city was. Legions of street cleaning mini trucks & legions of workers with brooms. Trash cans readily available everywhere, & people actually seem to use them!
