Well, actually this smiley is an exaggeration. I am not hungover, but since the festivities went on til 03:30...we got to bed quite late. I feel really tired now...and somehow, still full. Mercy me! We rolled out of bed about 12 or 12:30, feeling all drained but pleased that it all went so well with the planning and amounts of everything. There was enough for everyone and also enough for everyone to take home one appelflap and one oliebol each. There was a handful crackers, salad and cheese which we will finish off in the coming days. Here is an appelflap with tea this afternoon: Lovely, that. It was just the thing at tea time this afternoon. We will have a discreet supper this evening with leftovers. p.s. If you get yer skates on Gaiow, there is still some for you...or sarnies if you arrive late.
Looks yummy. I'll be posting pictures soon of the feast we consumed New Years Eve and this amazing little Airbnb we found! We were still full at Noon the next day .... wow, was that only yesterday?
Sjoerd it would take some running ...I see if went very well and to rise out the sack at 12-30 that's one sore head
I had to look this up myself hadn't got a clue An oliebol ( Dutch pronunciation: [?o?lib?l] , plural oliebollen ) (also olykoek) is a traditional Dutch and Belgian food. They are called oliebollen (literally: oil balls ) in the Netherlands , while in Belgium they are also called smoutebollen (literally: lard balls although the real "smout" is of rapeseed oil ) and croustillons (loosely: crispies ) in French. In English they are more commonly known as Dutch doughnuts or dutchies .
