I've just add these 6 tools arrive tonight and that's it i'm finished for when I just need new liquids Bedee Fish Tank Clean Kit 6 in 1 Aquarium Tank Cleaning kit with Gravel Rake, Algae Scraper, Glass Sponge Brush, Water Plant Fork, Underwater Debris Net, Aquarium Net Cleaning Tool Set
Well hubby was concerned with my skin going into the tank with my smaller sponge in case I got a reaction from the liquid you add to the water, so I brought an extendable one...I've broken the bank
I gottit Gail. Well, the snails do poop of course, but you have the hoover fish to help you there. Anyhow, I can understand that you want to keep it simple, in terms of reproduction. That is a good strategy.
Sjoerd I don't want reproduction in the tank...i'll leave that to the more experienced people who have been doing it for years and I like the tanks clean as best possible but when I do finally move them all to the new tank when it's done it's cycle I shall buy another Albion sucker and to more shrimps.
Well I've still been changing my small aquarium water regular and my fish seem happy enough. Tested the big tank today and he are the readings, so I took a third of the water out and replaced it with fresh water. pH 7.6 Ammonia 0.0ppm Nitrite 2.0ppm Nitrate 0.10ppm
@Kazzawazza if my readings go up in my tank like the other day to this below do I still remove the water like I've being doing in the small tank? pH 7.6 Ammonia 0.0ppm Nitrite 2.0ppm Nitrate 0.10ppm
Don’t remove water more than twice a week during cycling (10%) If your readings are still high you are either over-feeding or have too many fish, or both.
Well I went to the pet shop today and brought 3 new guppies and two Albion gold suckers and two shrimps that look like fish but lie on their back under the air filter and they take in any bits that come from the filter...these are the guinea pigs for testing before my main ones go in. Today a film started on the water and tonight I was going to buy a skimmer and brains my other half went and got new black filter's he uses on the motors and cut to thick pieces and they're going around the tank water on top stripping it away.
