Hi started work on the above project today a few pictures of my progress only a couple of hours work to get it to this stage, i will update this thread as more work is done.
Gosh nitram it looks impressive already especially as it has only taken you a few hours so far. I look forward to your progress photographs.
Thank you eileen, this is a process to make the sinks look like stone https://www.teabreakgardener.co.uk/troughs-for-alpines-how-to-cover-a-belfast-sink/ ive collected some natural stone as well for the project.
Nice job again mate so far and can't wait to see this finished ...your pool pathing looks beautiful how you've done it and those pots I searched the garden centres last year but I say they do look lovely
Thank you Gail today i put a coat of bitumen on the sinks tomorrow i will mould the cement mixture round them.
Thanks yes its just about finished, i gave it a test today it works great i need to do some planting up over time once nature has taken its course it should blend in nice, The top sink needs hiding and that's about it, ive put two bags of pea gravel one in each large sink to act as filters, its made the water cloudy as expected it will clear in a few days, A small video of it working. http://sendvid.com/vs6erq10
Well you've achieved what you set out to do - big time. Who would guess that there are sinks there? It looks absolutely amazing and, once the water has cleared, it's going to be a really lovely feature. Well done you.
Thank you for your kind words, ive just popped out to check on the pond and this little chap is in it .
Thanks i think he/she has made our pond home here he is again. The waters gradually clearing i've divided the plant the frogs sat in and put it in one of the sinks its some kind of grass i don't know its name, a couple of bathing/drinking areas for the birds.
I see you have fish in the pond. How are they doing? I'm glad the water has begun to clear so the water will be getting oxygenated pretty well for them. The frog doesn't seem to have any complaints about its new home!!
' The fish appear fine hopefully the dust from the pea gravel hasn't effected them too much i did wash it but obviously you can't remove it all. its only a small pond and soon clouds up, i keep running the hose once a day for a short while to get some fresh water in being careful not to add too much chlorine, I am sure once everything settles it will benefit everything in there its certainly getting more oxygenated than before, i don't run the pump all year anyhow last year the waterfall froze and it directed the water out of the pond the fish were left with just inches of water .
