    I feel that since phosphorus does not leave the soil as easily as Potassium and Nitrogen one should be careful about overuse.

    If there are free roaming dogs in your area, bone meal is a magnet for them. Dogs, bones, you can guess the rest!

    I just stick with plain old commercial fertilizer ! Dogs don`t like it !

    The same as fish emulsion with cats! I used some and nearly got stampeded by felines last summer...

    Before adding bone meal to your garden, have your soil tested. The effectiveness of bone meal phosphorus drops significantly if the pH of the soil is above 7.
