I have various clematis i don't know there names sorry but they flower at different times of the year, one of them has been in flower since just after Christmas due to it being mild it usually flowers late march, This link might help. https://www.gardenia.net/guide/Clematis-Blooming-Seasons
Yep, there are many different blooming times. You need to know the name, look it up and do not cut back until you know when the bloom time is.
I have Clems that bloom in all 3! Several bloom in the spring, this photo is summer, and of course the Sweet Autumn come at the end of the season.
I had one white one and one pink one either side of two panels and as they started growing across the fencing I started interweaving them and they did look lovely.
Yes I did and they was only young and I planted them in the april but they soon took off...white one on the left and the pink on the right
I have a red one that I wasn't familiar with at first so brought it in thru the winter then planted it this past winter, Hoping it will come back and I caved and bought a small purple one today at the wally
I have several, all summer blooming. Mine tend to occasionally get clematis wilt (sigh!!). I read recently that planting them a bit deeper & adding compost on top every spring will help with that. I have topped off all of mine with compost this spring. Hoping for the best. @Petronius do you grow clematis?
