Yeah Gail, spill it! We had dinner from across the Atlantic this evening. Becky is from Maine and she likes to make a dish called Finnan Haddie. Irish peat smoked haddock cooked in a buttery cream sauce with chopped Irish Potatoes. Served with green peas and salad.
Sounda delicious! Our daughter came for dinner and in her honor, we had duck breasts, small potatoes and Brussels sprouts in a cranberry ginger ssuce.
Tonight it was....Spuds w/ a jus from the bratworst fat, Belgian Endive w/ cheese sauce and bratworst. Iceys for pud.
This isn't dinner; it's breakfast: Greek yogurt, fruit & nuts. And coffee, of course! My go-to breakfast every morning.
That is quite sturdy brekkie, Cayu. Years ago when we were in the states, we noticed that in the motels the brekkies were most often hot. Our brekkies here are more along the lines of what you eat. We always have a lunchmeat sort, a cheese and a jam or chocolate paste after OJ and a piece of fruit.

Dinner tonight was a concoction, my husband's inspiration. It was delicious! I tried to take a photo of it, by my phone camera was set in reverse mode, & it took an (unflattering) picture of me instead. Upsidedown.
Tonight's dinner is mesquite grilled pork ribs, grilled potatoes, and a broccoli salad. We've had poor weather lately, and I'm happy to get outside and cook!
I really like spuds prepared like that, Gail. Cayu---I almost fell out of my chair laughing. That was such a funny accident....but unflattering---nah.
Plus.... Its chicory with cheese sauce 'n spuds with the Bride's award-winning....world famous....gold medal meat balls. The guys may be drooling and in anticipation of a super tasty meal...the girls, of course have long ago twigged exactly what's going on. I am lavishing compliments so that I won't have to do the cooking. Now with the gravy:
It stopped raining! That means I can haul out the grill, soak mesquite, and smoke some pork ribs for dinner tonight. We'll have a broccoli salad and sugar peas with our ribs. I love to grill, but not in the rain . . . .
@Sjoerd my mouth is watering! Any chance of wrangling that meatball recipe out of the Bride? Please tell her I will be appropriately appreciative and will dub it Bride's Meatball Recipe. We had this dinner a while back. Pretty isn't it? The protein is salmon. The shavings atop the avocado & tomato are asparagus in a citrus dressing My community plot asparagus are just about ready to be harvested. More asparagus meals to come!
